Q: How do I get a quote?
Call, text, or fill out our project inquiry form. We’ll schedule a free on-site visit to see the space, understand what you’re looking for, and give you a detailed written quote. No pressure, no obligation.
Q: How far in advance should I book?
For major renovations like kitchens and basements we recommend booking 4 to 8 weeks in advance, especially during spring and fall which are our busiest seasons. Smaller repairs can often be scheduled sooner. Contact us early to lock in your preferred start date.
Q: Do you offer free consultations?
Yes — our initial consultation and quote are completely free. We visit your home, assess the project, and provide a written estimate at no charge.
Q: Do you provide a warranty on your work?
Yes. We stand behind our work. We provide a workmanship warranty on all completed projects — if something isn’t right after we’re done, we come back and fix it at no additional cost.
Q: Can we communicate in Mandarin or Cantonese?
Absolutely. Matthew speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese fluently. You’re welcome to communicate in whichever language you’re most comfortable with throughout the entire project — from the first call to the final walkthrough.
Q: Do you handle building permits?
Yes. For projects that require permits — basement finishing, home additions, structural changes — We manage the entire application process with your local municipality. We’re familiar with York Region building codes and permit requirements across Newmarket, Aurora, Richmond Hill, Markham and Vaughan.
Q: How long will my renovation take?
It depends on the scope. Here are typical timelines as a general guide:
- Bathroom renovation: 2 to 3 weeks
- Kitchen renovation: 3 to 5 weeks
- Basement finishing: 4 to 8 weeks
- Home addition: 8 to 16 weeks
- Landscaping & interlock: 1 to 2 weeks
We provide a detailed project timeline during the planning phase and communicate any changes immediately if they come up.
Q: Do you subcontract the work?
We keep the core work in-house. For specialized trades like electrical or plumbing that require licensed tradespeople, we work with a trusted network of local contractors we’ve used for years. We coordinate everything — you deal with one point of contact throughout the project.
Q: What is your payment structure?
We require a deposit to secure your start date, followed by milestone payments tied to project progress. The full payment schedule is outlined in your written contract before any work begins — no surprise charges, ever.
Q: Do you work with Chinese Canadian families on multigenerational home projects?
Yes — this is one of our most requested services. Whether you’re adding a legal basement suite for parents, converting a garage, or adding a second master bedroom, we understand the specific needs of multigenerational living and have completed many of these projects across York Region. Homeowners may also be eligible for the CMHC Secondary Suite Loan Program to help finance basement suite additions.
